The Millstone nuclear scholarship program at CT State - Three Rivers has provided many students with a quality, accredited Associate in Science degree, along with excellent employment opportunities or transfer to BS programs for its graduates over its 39 years of existence.

 The application deadline for the Millstone Scholarship is February 24, 2025.

 If you have any students with solid math and science grades, this is a tremendous fully paid two year degree program at CT State - Three Rivers.

Community Scholarship Program - Charter Oak Credit Union

GUIDELINES & APPLICANT CRITERIA
Mission of Scholarship Program:
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is committed to helping the youth in our communities achieve lifelong success by providing financial support to deserving high school seniors and college students attending two- or four-year accredited institutions of higher education.

Eligibility:

• Applicant (student) must be a primary member of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union.

• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, or a student planning to attend or currently attending an accredited institution of higher education such as a two-year or four-year college; or a technical, vocational or business college in September 2025. (Previous winners may submit an application for continued financial support.)

• Applicant must excel academically, be involved in extracurricular activities and/or be involved in his or her local

community.

Please highlight your relevant activities and achievements over the past year for our judges’ consideration.

Submitting Scholarship Applications:

Applications will ONLY be accepted electronically. Visit https://charteroak.org/community-giving/scholarship-program/

to complete your application. Applications must be submitted by March 12, 2025.

Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Applicants may request information about the program by calling the Community Relations Coordinator at 860.446.8085 ext. 3275.

Selecting Scholarship Recipients:

Charter Oak Federal Credit Union’s Community Scholarship recipients are carefully chosen based on a variety of criteria by the Community Scholarship Program Committee. Recipients should be well-rounded student members from New London and Windham counties who have excelled academically, have had a strong involvement in extracurricular activities, or have made it a priority to give back to their community. The Committee considers financial need when selecting Community Scholarship recipients.

All applicants will be notified in writing of the Community Scholarship Program Committee’s decision. Charter Oak Federal Credit Union reserves the right to publicize the names and images of Scholarship recipients through our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, print publications and local media. LIKE US ON FACEBOOK, and be among the first to see the 2025 scholarship recipient list.

Scholarship Disbursement:

Scholarship checks will be sent directly to the college the recipient will be attending. Scholarship funds can only be used to fund college tuition expenses. Should the recipient not attend college by September 2025, he or she agrees to forfeit the scholarship award.

Connecticut Water Environment Association - Scholarship Award Program 2025

DESCRIPTION:

This scholarship is being offered by the CTWEA (Connecticut Water Environment Association) in effort to encourage students to pursue a college degree or studies in an environmental related field. This application can also be found on https://www.ctwea.org/.

ELIGIBILITY:

Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who reside in Connecticut and who intend to graduate from high school in May/June 2025 and who plan to pursue an environmental curriculum at a college/university in the fall of 2025.

REQUIREMENTS (All of the below must be included to be considered):

1. Minimum 3.0 (out of 4.0) Grade Point Average (GPA).

2. Completed application form.

3. A resume outlining academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

4. A cover letter detailing reasons for applying for this scholarship and what inspired you to want to study the field of environmental science.

5. Record of transcript.

6. One letter of recommendation from an academic/extracurricular associate, addressed to CTWEA. References provided by associates related to STEM academics/activities will be given preference.

7. **Only applications submitted as one single combined PDF file will be reviewed. Please do not submit as separate uncombined files or documents. This will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed by CTWEA. **

The Connecticut Bar Foundation 25th Annual Quintin Johnstone Statewide High School
Essay Contest

Presented by the James W. Cooper Fellows 

 2024-2025 Topic:

“From Flags to Factions: Examining Student Expression and School Policy”

The contest is open to all Connecticut students under the age of 21 who are enrolled in grades 9-12, or their equivalent, at an accredited high school, vocational-technical school, or adult high school credit diploma program located within the State of Connecticut.  The contest is also open to all Connecticut homeschooled students in grades equivalent to 9-12. 

  • Grand Prize - $2,000

  • Two Runner-Up Prizes - $1,000 each

Essays will be judged by federal and state court judges, law professors, and other attorneys.  An awards ceremony will be held at the Connecticut Supreme Court in Spring 2025.

Deadline for submission: February 20, 2025

 Entries must be submitted through the auspices of the Connecticut school the student attends, with the exception of homeschooled students.  Each teacher shall select no more than three entries per class.  Teachers of any subject may submit entries.  There is no limit on the number of teachers who may submit entries from a single school.  School counselors may submit no more than three entries per semester.  There is no limit on the number of school counselors who may submit entries from a single school.
