The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These five pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1929..

Charles H Barrows Members of NJHS that will be inducted at a ceremony on Wednesday, November 20th at 5:30. We are proud to have the following students represent Barrows as Members of the National Junior Honor Society:

NJHS meetings will occur bi-weekly during lunch times. There may be some after-school activities that are planned, and attendance will not be mandatory but strongly suggested.

What Does the National Junior Honor Society Do at Barrows?

In the past NJHS members have:

  • Sponsored a Thanksgiving meal donation program that has supported families in our community,

  • Hosted a Red Nose Day to raise funds to end childhood hunger in the U.S.,

  • Participated in Walk for Warmth,

  • Organized school dances,

  • Baked cookies for troops abroad and active-duty Coast Guard service men and women.
