FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is an after school club for Barrows’ students in grade 5 to engaged in hands-on STEM experiences and compete in a global robotics competition. During weekly meetings children work with their coaches to engage in theme-based challenges to research, problem solve, code, and engineer. At state tournaments members compete with other FLL teams to advance to the national and world competitions. The team(s) also present both their theme project, robotics and engineering to the school community at our STEM EXPO in March/April. The foundation of the program is the FIRST® Core Values, which emphasize teamwork, discovery, and innovation. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce.
