Dear Charles H. Barrows STEM Academy School Parents and Guardians:
When your students come home today, they may report to you that it was cold in some parts of their school. Equipment that heats a small portion of our building was not working this morning due to a broken part, therefore affecting heat in the main office, nurses' offices and one first grade classroom. Students in that classroom were moved to a warm space. Our facilities team brought in space heaters, which were fired up in the afternoon to help warm up the affected areas.
The part that needs replacement will be in tomorrow mid-day, and installation will begin immediately, but it’s possible the cool temperatures in those areas of the school may continue into Thursday.
Overall there was no disruption to the school day, but we wanted you to be aware of this minor facilities situation. Please call us if you have any questions.
